The Brazilian heads into the final round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge after a season of overcoming challenges alongside Varun Choksey.

After a season that demanded speed and quick reflexes, Kiko Porto (Banco Daycoval / Toyota Gazoo Racing / Team: Rafa Racing) reaches the decisive moment of his first year in the GS class of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. This weekend, the Brazilian driver will compete in the 10th and final round of the championship at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, alongside American Varun Choksey. The goal is to close out 2026 with another competitive performance behind the wheel of the RAFA Racing Team’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2. 2026 Season The final chapter comes after a championship marked by ups and downs for the duo. Kiko and Choksey faced issues in some rounds and situations that prevented them from achieving standout results, but they also demonstrated the pace to contend for key positions throughout the year. The highlight came at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, when the two claimed victory in the GS class—a result that confirmed on the track the speed demonstrated by the combination of drivers, car, and team. More than just numbers or standings in the championship, the 2026 season represented an important milestone in Kiko’s international career. After winning the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge in 2025, the move to the Michelin Pilot Challenge in the GS class brought new challenges—from the car’s handling and tire management to the dynamics of endurance racing and the need to share equipment with a teammate. Speed to Turn Learning into Results “It was a very challenging year and, at the same time, one of great learning for me and the team. We faced some situations that were beyond our control. But I believe that, overall, it was a good year. We managed to show good pace in most races and secured one victory. We’re heading into this final race confident that we’ve done a good job and have always fought to finish at the front,” says Kiko. In a championship where on-track performance didn’t always translate into the expected results, Kiko and the RAFA Racing Team kept their focus on improving the car and striving for competitiveness. The victory in Canada showed that, when all the pieces fell into place, the #12 Toyota was capable of competing for the top positions. Now, Road Atlanta hosts the final round of the 2026 season. The circuit, located in Georgia, is known for its fast and technical layout, featuring elevation changes and sections that demand precision from the drivers. For a two-hour race, in addition to speed, it will be essential to manage tires, traffic, strategy, and the various situations that naturally arise in an endurance race. It is precisely in this scenario that the Brazilian driver’s experience and ability to adapt take on even greater importance. Schedule begins this Wednesday The Michelin Pilot Challenge schedule begins this Wednesday (30), with the category’s first free practice session. This will be Kiko and Choksey’s first time on the circuit for the championship’s final round, a session set aside to fine-tune the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 and find the best balance for the race. On Thursday (1st), the duo returns to the track for the second free practice session, ahead of the qualifying session that will determine the GS class starting grid. Qualifying is scheduled for the evening in Brazil, presenting the team with an important opportunity to secure a good starting position for the decisive race. Every tenth of a second will matter on a circuit where traffic and battles for position can determine the course of the race. The final race of the season will take place on Friday (2), when the Michelin Pilot Challenge drivers compete in the 2-hour race at Road Atlanta. Brazilian fans can watch the race live on IMSA’s official YouTube channel. Fans in Recife—the hometown of Kiko Porto—who have been closely following the driver’s career will have another opportunity to see Kiko represent Brazil in one of the top racing series in the United States.
